The Upper Mississippi Certified Forest Product Group is a collection of independent, local companies dedicated to the well being of the forestland and wilderness of Minnesota.
The internationally renowned Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) has
certified particular Minnesota forests as being managed in an environmentally
appropriate, socially beneficial, and economically viable way. Think
of FSC Certification as
a ‘Seal of Approval’.
The FSC has also certified the Upper Mississippi Certified Forest Product Group to sell wood products bearing the FSC logo. That means products we sell originate from an FSC Certified Forest.

Your Purchases Support Healthy Forests in Our Region. Minnesota Has The Largest Certified Forest Land Base In The United States. In 1997, County and State managed forests in Aitkin County were among the very first publicly managed forests to be certified as well managed by the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC); with neighboring Cass County managed forests being certified a few years later. There are over one hundred certified forests in the United States totaling 23 million acres. Minnesota with 6 million acres represents one-fourth of the nation’s total. Select products we sell come from these specials forests. |
